This painting depicts delicate yet powerful moment of my pregnancy at 41 weeks pregnant with my first child at the birthing unit. It encapsulates the enduring physical discomfort, mental anxiousness and my inner strength to overcome it all during my motherhood journey from conception to birth. Going through this transition is where I met my breaking point. Reading positive affirmations while on a call to my mother overseas for more strength and blessings. Despite enduring 24 hours of labour pain, I was yearning for the moment to hold my child in my arms. It is a visual representation of my revolving door of emotions we as women go through in pregnancy. The joy, excitement, and anticipation felt by the mother. The beauty of childbirth is an eternal connection between the miraculous nature of life and the power of the female form.
