This painting came about as a result of my evacuation from my home and studio during the 2020 fires.
The sky burnt a fierce orange and plumes of black smoke engulfed my street
The painting came about from photos I took at the time from the road’s end where we were waiting to relocate into the nearest evacuation centre
It is a gestural painting with a surging energy which imparts an intensity to the interior space
