Australia's kestrel is commonly listed as as the Nankeen Kestrel> It is the smallest of our falcons and has many common names but my favourite is "Windhover" as it is such a descriptive name. Hovering seemingly motionless whilst seeking prey it will plummet earth-wards with breath-taking speed. All that and handsome as well!
