Pastel on paper
Signed on the front.
Part of a series that explores the self we present to the world and our inner self.
Here-s he presents a perfect and somewhat conventionally beautiful face to ensure she blends in and feels like she belongs.
The other side of her- her inner world -is based on a Six Macaw a truly beautiful and rare bird. Sometimes a person will attempt to conceal their uniqueness in an attempt to blend and belong. The world does not see their uniqueness which is only shared with a select few. This work explores this dichotomy and invites the viewer to consider how these aspects can be harmonised.
I've created this with pastel crayons and pastel pencils on paper and sprayed with a fixative spray to hold the pigments in place. This will need to be framed (preferably under glass) to help you enjoy this. It is a truly thought provoking piece.
