A implausible outfit embodying the Freedom to be who we are. With her hair flowing free, wearing a magnificent hat, peacock feather and a saree she follows the beat of her own drum and exudes grace and beauty.
Peacocks are a symbol of wisdom and alludes to the fact that she is truly wise having found the courage to be who she wants to be and a place where she belongs.
The painting was inspired by a previous work referencing a peacock, hats worn to the races( particularly pictures of those worn to ascot)memories of standing by the water on a windy day and a photograph taken on my birthday earlier this year. I wanted to create a painting that captured freedom, joy, flamboyance and self-expression.
I've painted this predominantly in hues of Ultra Saturate Blue and Gold metallic acrylic paint and some white to give this a feeling of majesty and splendour. The peacock feather combine these with shades of green being the colour in between the yellow and blue in the rainbow. This will liven up and invigorate any room. My art has a story behind each piece and I hope this brings you joy.
