Petal references a red rose painted as if it were cross stitch. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. A red rose denoting love and devotion. What better to have hanging on your bedroom wall or in your study?
I have lifelong love of cross stitch and embroidery and this rose artwork was created to bring together two of my great loves. I also love that embroidery is a craft that is beloved across many continents. I started creating cross stitch pictures whilst living in Sri Lanka. It was comforting to be able to find common interests and people who shared these passions when I moved to Australia. This would be a perfect gift for someone in your life that does love beautiful handmade items. Embroidery and painting are for me joyful and mindful activities and I hope you feel serenity when gazing upon this. As an aside this was painted outdoors on a sunny Melbourne day with my dog at my feet. I did feel a great deal of contentment whilst creating this.
Note: This framed artwork is painted on aluminium board and sits in a floating frame. The frame itself ( made by Southern Buoy in Victoria) is indented at the back with a ridge and does not require D Rings and a wire to hang. It is ready to hang but does not have a wire across the back. It will be sent with nails (if you wish to hang on a wall) and I've been able to hang these at home on a wall that has hooks ( without a wire) as the painting frame sits comfortably in these.
