These fairy wrens can be found in the south-west of Western Australia and are a popular bird for photographers and bird watchers. These two looked so adorable I just had to photograph and paint them. Native to Australia, fairy wrens are very cute and difficult to capture with a camera because they rarely sit still on a branch. A blue green sea turtle swimming over a multi-coloured coral reef with sunlight shining down through the water. The coral is yellow, blue, purple and pink coloured with green and pink parrot fish and clown fish and other small tropical fish swimming over the reef.The Basin swimming area at Rottnest Island, with the sheds and pine trees in the background. The foreground features the reef surrounding the island, a favourite swimming and snorkeling spot for holidaymakers. The reef in the foreground is highlighted by the surrounding turquoise waters. A sandy path leads down to the water's edge where small rocks and boulders protrude from the froth as waves lap around the rocks in the shallow bay. The sea changes from a blue green to a light turquoise colour as it enters the shallow bay and the white coloured sand is reflected from below. Small rocks and boulders line the edge of the small bay and protrude from the water and the sand on the shoreline. This painting uses stamps, stencils and acrylic paint to create patterns on the canvas. The canvas is then over painted in sky blue acrylic paint to create the tea and coffee pot objects. This artwork is cottage style and would well in a kitchen or dining area as well as a bedroom.
