This artwork depicts my trusty baseball cap that was lying on my kitchen bench. I chose this object to paint in watercolour as these caps are everywhere and can be bought cheaply at Kmart. It has a really practical function of keeping the sun off my face in the Australian harsh summer. I wanted to try painting on a very small scale to create an intimate artwork as a change from painting on large canvasses. It is a representation of the everyday items found lying around my house.
