This impasto landscape was inspired by the late artist Arthur Boyd and the memory of an old artist friend - whose sweeping, textured palette knife works depicted glowing Australian vistas. Cirsky uses the same technique in this vibrant wilderness scene, described by some as almost ‘middle earth’. It is set no where in particular - a sunset landscape of fantasy where rivers make ribbons as they direct life giving water through the plains. The effect of the overflow sees crimson light dropping off suddenly into darkness – providing a dramatic show of chiaroscuro and balance.
