Lesser Wanderer Butterfly by Michelle Dujmovic

My painting is of a Lesser Wanderer Butterfly (Danaus petunia) which I saw a specimen of at the WA museum.
Lesser Wanderer Butterflies are a common species within Australia and migrate between different areas throughout the country.
I loved the vibrant colours of the specimen I studied to which I used layers of water colours to achieve the rich hues. Watercolours is a favourite medium of mine, utilising the white of the paper for the white details and seeing the painting "pop" as the glazed layers start to take effect without a heavy appearance.
Painted in high quality, Artist grade watercolours on smooth Arches hot pressed paper 300gsm. The painting has a wide professional matt board ready to be framed to your preference. Internal window size is: 16.5cm width x 14.5cm height, with matt board total external measurements are: 32.5cm width x 31.5cm height.
The painting is great addition to a natural history collection and suits both a modern and traditional interior.
Artwork will be packed carefully and shipped in a custom-made sturdy box.
