Warm afternoon light hits the branches and leaves of gum trees, and filters its way onto the grass and dirt leading up the hill, the road largely in cool shadow.
Burrendong Road is a road near where I grew up. My Primary School is on this road; I used to walk to school (it was only a 3 minute walk, or 1 minute run if I was late). It is a landscape I am very familiar with and holds a special meaning for me.
This piece was painted in 2021.
The piece is set in a Tasmanian Oak floater frame, lovingly handmade and mounted by the artist himself.
The piece is varnished with Gamblin Gamvar Gloss Varnish.
