An expressive piece that is part of a series of works that explore the concept of the micro-local. It's about creating evocative works that document memorable and historic spaces of the Mount Victoria district of the Blue Mountains. The space in question here, is the heritage ponds at Mt York overlooking the Hartley valley. No one is sure who built them, probably convicts building the first road across the Blue Mountains. During times of environmental stress, bushfires and drought, the ponds become a sanctuary for the wide range of local fauna.
