Man at Night II is a life drawing that examines the gestural nature and fluidity of mark-making while describing the clothed human form. The painting/drawing was completed entirely with a toothbrush and water-based (acrylic polymer) bitumen paint. It is the second in my 'Man at Night' series.
Despite being created on cardboard, the piece has surprising rigidity and has enabled for each mark to be recorded with ample texture of the brushstroke.
Completed as part of my Visual Art Honours degree, this work exemplifies my interest into drawing, mark-making and how line can suggest life.
