Grandpa’s Tree was inspired by my youngest son and his obsession with climbing trees when he was yonger, one particular tree in his Grandpa’s yard was a favourite.

The bold brushstrokes and vibrant colours in this painting really bring it to life. The warm reds and browns of the tree pop against the lush greens of the leaves and the sunny backdrop, making the whole thing feel super inviting. I love how the thick layers of paint give it depth and energy.

His relaxed pose screams playfulness and freedom, perfectly showing the joy of being a kid and exploring. His expression is a little mysterious, too, making you wonder—is he deep in thought, amazed by everything around him, or just enjoying his own little moment of peace?
