While travelling through Central Australia we camped in remote Gemtree Caravan Park. As it was early January it was incredibly hot and water was in short supply so the native birdlife would come down to drink water from some of the taps that dripped water that comes from deep underground. I would sit with my camera quietly as various birds would fly in and it felt like I could feel the air pushed from their winds as they would fight each other for who got the best spot for a drink. I have a series of photos that I will eventually make into various paintings. This picture makes you feel this cheeky galah could almost fly into you at any second.
