As the sun was going down in Central Australia I was lucky enough to look up and see several pink and grey galahs sitting right above me that were glowing in the last rays of light. I grabbed my camera and snapped this photo just as some of them took off. When creating this painting my aim was to capture an impression of the light and the galahs movement through painterly brush marks and carefully placed palette knife strokes.
