Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

This painting was inspired by an experience I had with a sulphur crested cockatoo who spread his beautiful wings to lift off into flight just as I snapped a photo. The picture came out a complete blur but that blur was a perfect starting point for this painting. I have built this painting up with layers apon layers to give it a rich depth. This painting won the Katherine Town Council Art Award and has also been reproduced on a wall in Cavenagh Street in Darwin City as part of the 2019 Darwin Street Art Festival.
