While these roses were some of the 'Last Roses of Summer' in the Adelaide Botanical Gardens, their full blooms in their final showing, captured my attention. Certainly it caught the eyes (or maybe the smells?) of bees.
But the mottled sunlight striking the rose bush, threw these stately flowers into the limelight. This is one of my most admired paintings, and even won an 'honorable mention' at a major hospital exhibition.
I've painted quite a few rose paintings, and hoping to paint some more, soon, but this one is hard to beat, I think. But I guess I just have a soft spot for this one?
Unframed, on canvas - ready-to-hang. But may be framed if desired. Painting continued on sides.
