Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

I have vivid memories from family camping and 4x4 trips to Central Australia when I was in my teens, and have been slowly recreating memories of some of the key sites that we visited. I have been collecting reference photos of the amazing Kata Tjuta (sometimes also referred to as The Olgas) for a while and knew I'd finally get around to painting them.

I've wrapped the painting around the edges to continue that expansive sense of space.

I really loved playing with that alien geometry of the rocks rising out of the desert floor, and the contrast between the sky blue and the burnt orange and cadmium reds of the rocks and earth.
