This painting depicts a wedge of sky during sunset. The view is looking west from my studio balcony on a summer evening. Adelaide is treated to exceptional sunsets as the city hugs a western coastline and tends to attract desert and coastal cloud formations. I was fascinated by the subtle blue, indigo, purple, orange and yellows in this scene. I was influenced by the cloud paintings of John Constable, JMW Turner and Philip Wolfhagen.
The painting is framed in a black box-style frame 2cm wide by 4cm deep.
