Artist Picks: George Hall

I love looking at other artists work. My house is covered in paintings, drawings and mixed media works from other artists. This allows me to drift into someone else's world and dream my way through what I think might be going on. I also just love the colour combinations, lines and shapes employed by these other brains. I am a very visual person and love colour, movement and depth that really draws the eye in. I am slightly dyslexic, so as a child I used to try and work out what was going on by the visuals, which I was embarrassed to admit, but now I think it was perfect training for the artistic life I lead now. . I appreciate a large variety of artworks, from hyper-realist to simplistic abstracts. While the style may vary, composition and colour choices need to be interesting, conflicting, dramatic, contrasting, calming. They say never choose art to go with your curtains or couch, but the jury is out for me on that one. Maybe I’d say choose the curtains and couch to go with the art.

About the Curator

George Hall

George Hall is an artist who in his own right has created a style full of colour, flair and creativity. Having grown up with a creative mindset, George, the son to an art loving architect, was drawn into the world of textile design. It was there he studied and began a career that would take him all over the world. It was when George took the chance of selling his artwork online, his world quickly changed. In what George describes as a “dream like, pinch me is this real moment”, his artwork began to sell. He took the leap of faith to leave his full-time job in exchange for his dream career as an artist, and now George has not turned back.
