Queensland is a place of pristine beaches, tropical islands, and colourful corals so it is no wonder why it is known as the Sunshine State. Queensland artists have a limitless source of inspiration from their sunny home state, so we’ve compiled select works with some of the most exciting contemporary Queensland artists.

About the Curator

Sarah Elizabeth Hughes is an artist and curator based in Melbourne. Born in Perth, she completed a Bachelor of Arts from Edith Cowan University (Southwest campus) in her undergraduate studies Sarah focused and developed her practice as a visual artist.
In 2017 Sarah relocated to Melbourne and began her Master's studies in Arts Management at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Since arriving in Melbourne, since Sarah has continued her practice and become an active member of the arts community.
