'Passing Shower' is part of a series that I’ve been painting to do with beauty in our everyday urban environment. I painted this scene a few years ago in a near monochromatic palette but I was enticed to attempt a more vibrant version this time around. There's so much that I love about this scene: the single vanishing point perspective; the reflections; the narrow depth of field contrasting sharp and blurred and the way the eye is drawn to the shady figure under the light.
The painting has a stained Tasmanian oak shadow frame with the framed dimensions of 64cm (w) x 64cm (h) x 5.5cm (d).
